A proposal for a unified park encompassing the shoreline of Lake Ronkonkoma, Lily Pond Preserve and W.S. Commerdinger County Park Lake Ronkonkoma is the largest freshwater lake on Long Island. The Lake has been a place of recreation, tourism and commerce throughout its history. Over the past several decades, parts of the Lake beaches and shoreline have deteriorated. Revitalization of the Lake shoreline will restore the balance of preservation, enhancement, protection, development and use of Lake Ronkonkoma resources.
